Last summer I attended the 3rd edition of International Entrepreneurship Summer School (IESS) held by Institute of Business Administration (IBA). The IBA IESS is a 20 days summer school offering a 3 credit hours/ 6 ECT course covered in 10-day academic classes on entrepreneurship followed by a 10 day Pakistan tour. This summer school offers a unique blend of academic learning, industrial visits and travelling through the countries’ northern areas.
The academic program ranges from a series of entrepreneurial lessons by international and national faculty members to student presentations and group activities on entrepreneurial models. During this summer we had professors and guest speakers from countries like Germany, Australia, Qatar, Canada and the United States.
In addition to the entrepreneurship course you will join a uniquely extensive Pakistan tour. This will be a great opportunity to explore the hidden beauties of Pakistan. Pakistan is not a common destination for tourists. Tourist often tend to see Pakistan as an unsafe country held under oppressive religious laws but this is not true. The first time I visited Pakistan was in 2017 and I traveled around the country for 20 days a solo female traveler. I fell in love with the culture and people and was so happy to have the chance to go back to one of my favorite countries. During the trip we visited historical cities like Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. At the end of our journey we experienced the peaceful lifestyle of the locals of Hunza Valley.
Security situation in Pakistan is very good, even better than what I thought and expected before arriving to the country for the first time. I´ve never faced any issue and people from the staff will always help you with anything you need. If you like landscapes, nature, culture, architecture and delicious food, Pakistan will be the perfect place for you.
Attending IESS is a great opportunity to explore a different culture, interact with foreign students, network with professionals in the field, develop and refine skills and gain valuable work experience. This has been of of the greatest experiences I have ever had, not only because of the rich learning opportunities, but for all the people I met. .Hospitality is a part of Pakistani culture. Pakistani people are very conscious about their guests and definitely they know how to make you feel at home.
